Jefferson State offers degrees such as an associate's degree in industrial engineering technology with concentrations in Automation & Robotics or Process Control. This type of education prepares graduates for working within industrial environments and starting their businesses. As industries move towards automating processes, there will continue to be an increasing demand for qualified workers educated specifically in these technologies, which is why Centro decided to donate their newest Rethink Robotics GmbH to Jefferson State University.

Collaborative robots, or cobots, are changing how businesses operate by allowing humans and robots to work together on tasks that are too dangerous or difficult for humans alone. Cobots are perfect for machine tending, welding, assembly, material handling, and packaging. They are also straightforward to use; most can be programmed with just a few clicks of a mouse.

The Manufacturing and Technology program at Jefferson State Community College is excited to add Sawyer to its equipment lineup. Guy Adams, Middle AL Territory Manager for Centro, says, "We are enthusiastic about the mutual commitment to strengthening the partnership between Centro and Jefferson State Community College."
